«Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap» el tercer álbum de AC/DC no goza de la popularidad y reconocimiento que merece, fue publicado antes de «High Voltaje» y el enorme «Let there be rock«. Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, AC/DC’s third album, released right before High Voltage and the even bigger Let There Be Rock, was never as popular or revered as it should have been. Apart from “dirty” and “raunchy”, this diverse album, with its innuendo and wit reminiscent of Frank Zappa, combined with the unmistakable raw sound that their peers Aerosmith or Kiss were rocking, Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap was a one of a kind work of art. The fact that the album wasn’t released until five years later in America may have situated the album in an even more perfect spot for the American audience, since it came after Back in Black as an even more artistically mature album.
Del álbum, «Dirty Deeds Done Dirty Cheap» en 1976 se hicieron dos versiones del álbum. El primero fue publicado por Albert Studios y lanzado en Australia y Nueva Zelanda. Contó con todas las pistas nuevas y una portada de álbum de dibujos animados. La banda decidió cambiar la lista de canciones para aquellas fuera de su región natal por varias razones, y así se entregó una segunda versión o «versión internacional» de Dirty Deeds a su editor mundial, Atlantic Records mostrando a un grupo de personas frente a un hotel barato con sus ojos tapados con barras negras. Two versions of the album Dirty Deeds Done Dirty Cheap were released in 1976. The first one with all the new tracks and a cartoon album cover was released by Albert Studios for Australia and New Zealand. The band decided to change the track list when they released the album away from home for a couple different reasons, thus spurring a second or “international” version of Dirty Deeds that was delivered to their international publisher, Atlantic Records, that featured a group of people standing in front of a cheap hotel with their eyes covered with black bars. The Dirty Deeds story might have ended there if AC/DC hadn’t had such great success releasing their first two Top 40 albums in a row with Highway to Hell in ’79 and Back in Black the following year.

Unstoppable, with their Chuck Berry vibe, the Australians were able to take everyday topics and turn them into street poetry. With “Ain’t No Fun (Waiting‘ Round to Be a Millionaire)”, “There Gonna Be Some Rockin’”and “RIP (Rock in Peace)”, they took traditional rock’n’roll and made it as loud as possible.

The almighty duo Bon Scott and Angus Young, along with the killer rhythm section made up of Mark Evans on bass, Phil Rudd on drums and an unstoppable Malcolm Young, crushed it with “Problem Child”, even with its maracas at the end, taking the album to another dimension. “Ride On” is pure gold and one of the best songs AC/DC ever recorded. The choruses on “Problem Child” became a teenage anthem. For the record, AC/DC even arranged for Jerry Lee to tour with them on their Australia leg. Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap was released internationally on September 20, 1976 and on April 2, 1981 in the United States.
