Sturgill Simpson versiona el clásico de John Prine “Paradise”, en un disco tributo a Prine en el que aparecen más artistas llamado “Broken Hearts & Dirty Windows Vol. 2”. La canción de Sturgilla la número 12 cierra este disco homenaje a Prine, en el que aparece Brandi Carlile abriendo el álbum con “I remember everything”, entre otros.

Sturgill Simpson brings the new album, Broken Hearts & Dirty Windows Vol. 2, to a close, with his cover of John Prine’s classic “Paradise”. The album is a tribute to Prine and features a handful of great artists, including Brandi Carlile, who opens the album with her “I Remember Everything”.

Prine escribió “Paradise”, originalmente de su álbum debut “John Prine” de 1971, para su padre. La canción ha sido versionada por numerosos artistas a lo largo de los años incluyendo a John Denver, los Everly Brothers, Lynn Anderson, Roy Acuff, Dwight Yoakam e incluso Johnny Cash, todas versiones grabadas de la canción. Esta versión de Simpson de “Paradise” fue la última canción que grabó en el estudio de grabación Butcher Shoppe en Nashville para sus dos últimos trabajos en “Cuttin’ Grass”.

Prine originally wrote “Paradise” back in 1971 for his debut album John Prine, dedicated to his father. The song has been covered and recorded by a great deal of artists over the years, including John Denver, the Everly Brothers, Lynn Anderson, Roy Acuff, Dwight Yoakam, and even Johnny Cash. Simpson’s version of “Paradise” was the last song he recorded at the Butcher Shoppe recording studios in Nashville for his last two albums entitled Cuttin ‘Grass (volumes I and II).

Este es el segundo volumen de canciones dedicadas de John Prine por importantes músicos, en aquel soberbio primer disco “Broken Hearts & Dirty Windows Vol. 1” llegó en 2010 y contó con la colaboración de Justin Townes Earle, Avett Brothers, Sara Watkins, My Morning Jacket, Old Crow Medicine Show, Conor Oberst y Drive-By Truckers, entre otros.

Broken Hearts & Dirty Windows Vol. 2 is the second volume of songs that top musicians have dedicated to John Prine, a follow-up to the first incredible Vol. 1, which was released in 2010 and featured the collaboration of Justin Townes Earle, Avett Brothers, Sara Watkins, My Morning Jacket, Old Crow Medicine Show, Conor Oberst, and Drive-By Truckers, among others.
