More than an exhibition, «Live Music Experience» is an chance to relive the best rock, soul, hip hop, metal, urban music, reggae and other musical disciplines that have marked the history of the past 40 years throughout the whole Spanish state, focusing much of the content of the sample on Bilbao and Euskadi in general. From June 7th to September 2nd, in more than 1,200 square metres of exhibition, «Live Music Experience» will suggest for the first time a «revival» of the most outstanding live music moments and to experience the materials, the trips, tools, tickets, vinyl records, audiovisuals, songs, t-shirts, stadiums, venues, etc.. of what it was, what it is and will be like to feel the music experience. The exhibition belongs to Gay Mercader’s memorabilia, the music promoter responsible for bringing Rolling Stones every time they go on tour, among others. The rest of the show features his guitar collection, tickets, and other objects worthy of the most fetishistic music lover’s showcase, which recreates the many characteristic areas of the live music atmosphere, such as the photocall, dressing rooms, or backstage, and four specific areas focusing on the music of the 70s, 80s, 90s and the first decade of the 21st century respectively, and a fifth area about the Basque scene.

Summer is the season of music par excellence. In Euskadi, Bilbao BBK Live, Azkena Rock Festival, Donostia Jazzaldia and Vitoria-Gasteiz Jazzaldia are some of the major festivals that fill spaces every time wider and fill their stages with undeniable stars of the local music scene, national and international. This year, AlhóndigaBilbao joins the summer music programme with a proposal for all types of people with one thing in common: passion for live music.

The 70s

The 80s
